This class covers everything a beginner aquascaper, or even the experienced aquarium hobbyist, needs to know to start creating stunning underwater landscapes.
This isn't your typical lecture; by the end of the class we will have completed an aquascape as a group, with the guidance of a professional aquascaper. Space is limited, so now is the time to reserve your spot.

They are experienced in helping complete novices learn how to build everything from simple planted shrimp habitats to thriving high-tech aquascapes.
Each instructor has been chosen specifically for their practical skills, calm teaching approach, and love for the art of aquascaping. There will be no lectures, only instruction, motivation, and collaborative effort to complete your first aquascape.
All of your questions, whether about specific water conditions, the aquascape itself, or how to cut, maintain, and trim plants, will be answered by someone who has spent years working with aquariums, plant species, and aquatic life.
One of the most exciting parts of this class is that you won’t need to bring anything; Fitz’s Fish Ponds has you covered! We will be using the whole store as our playground – working with existing aquascapes, as well as building one as a class. All tools and materials will be provided, and students will receive access to the powerpoint presentation that accompanies the class.
This class is designed to be immersive rather than just a lecture. The small class size is designed for active participation, which is more likely to promote retention of information compared to passive learning. Half of the class is hands-on, as participants work with physical materials and receive real-time instruction.
The instructors will support you as you learn what to do and what not to do by guiding you through the process, allowing you to learn from trial and error. This approach will enable you to bring these skills home and rebuild your own aquascape with confidence!
Many believe aquascaping is complex and needs a lot of money and space. This is false.
Our goal is to show that aquascaping can be as simple or as complex as you want it to be. No experience is necessary. You don’t need high-end gear; all that’s required is a little curiosity and a willingness to try something different.
